At Cut it Up Challenge Blog, we’re celebrating Halloween OR Day of the Dead. We celebrate Halloween at my house, and I decided to make a card for my son. Most of the Halloween cut files I have are cutesy, but my son is in the USMC – definitely NOT cutesy! This is what I came up with:
This is called a Peek a Boo card. You can find the directions here, at Dawn’s Stamping Studio. It was really easy to make following Dawn’s clear directions. It starts as a gate fold card, but then there’s a surprise inside:
What fun!! I closed mine with a belly band (and wrote instructions on the back to slide the belly band off. Otherwise, you never know. . . He could just rip it off . . .) I got the spider svg as a freebie from Laina Lamb, but can’t seem to find it on her blog anymore. The cool digital stamp came from My Grafico — another freebie!
I got the idea for the front from Sketch Savvy #47. The subway art was a freebie from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons. It’s available for 99 cents now.
This challenge is sponsored by Digital Delights by Louby Lou. They have donated a $5.00 gift certificate to their store.
You should stop by Cut it Up Challenges and check out the cool projects that the other design team members created. So much talent! Then link up your own Halloween or Day of the Dead project. I know you have some!!

That is a great idea. I am always looking for different Hallowe’en themed things as it is my son’s birthday on that day.. He is now an adult but I still love to do something Hallowe’en themed.
How cool is this card! I love the monotone look and the bit in the inside is so cool!!!!!!!!
