That’s good advice for everyone! This Cut it Up challenge (#200!!) is for celebrating achievements. I’m continuing my box theme, but this time I used a Silhouette file, the Ribbon Tie Favor Box – Scalloped, Design #64602 in the Silhouette Design Store.
I used digital paper saved on my computer for many years from DDDoodles Papers. It’s called Stars and Stripes. The Shooting Star is from our sponsor, DRS Designs. All their stamps come in rubber and digital! I chose digital because I’m not the world’s greatest colorer.
I brought the image into Silhouette Design Studio and traced it. I made an offset for the shadow, then released the compound path of the original image. I moved the stars off the image and filled them with color, then I selected all those little dots plus the outline and made them a compound path again. I printed and cut it all out and assembled!
The hardest part was the bow, believe it or not!! It looked too floofy in the front and took away from the beauty of the star, so I tried lots of different ways to make it plainer, then just decided to tie it in a bow in the back.Hope you join us in congratulating someone on a job well done, education finished, promotion, etc. by creating your own Shoot for the Stars project and linking it at Cut it Up! You could be the random winner of a $20 credit to DRS Designs, and they have a ton of great stamps there!
