I don’t know whether it’s my eyesight or what, but so many times when I glue together my paper piecings, there’s paper peeking out where it shouldn’t. Normally, I create a base that’s a tiny bit smaller than the pieces going on top of it, but apparently I didn’t do that this time, and all my adorable gnomes (a recent freebie from Little Scraps of Heaven) required nip-and-tucks.
See all that blue sticking out from behind the their beards? It had to go. Snip, snip, snip.
Much better.
I decided to make a few more Christmas cards with them using up some scraps that were on my desk (but didn’t make it into the picture from the other day) and some old and/or unloved crafting supplies.
The leftover papers were really pretty. I decided to just tape them together then trim them down to size for my A2 cards.Don’t know if you can actually see the tape here . . .
Anyway, the gnomes needed snow drifts to anchor them, so I used my trusty old Creative Memories cutter for that, which I love. The sentiments come from a very old CTMH Stamp of the Month called Very Merry Christmas. I love that, too! What I don’t love is the black card stock. I have a lot of it and it’s sooo thick! I can’t use it for layering on cards nor for cutting on my machines because it’s sooo thick! So I decided to use it for the card base itself, but, man, I have so much of it. To pop the gnomes up a bit, I used some old half-inch dimensional foam squares. Don’t love them, either! 🙂
The cards turned out cute, though, probably because of that cute gnome! They seem to be really popular these days, don’t they?

Your gnome cards did come out cute and I like how the card bases came out to with the scraps.
Evelyn : these adorable gnome cards are my Favorites. I love them!
Thank you for sending me a card this fall. It has been an interesting year health wise for both of us; but fortunately, we are still kicking!
Have a wonderful Christmas and a blessed 2020!.
They are ALL so CUTE! Yes, those gnomes are adorable, but I really like the pattern papers – they really “fit” together! I think the black cardstock makes the pattern papers POP! Which I love most!
And I hear ya on the paper surgery! I’ve had to do it a few times myself with certain files – it’s just the way that it goes sometimes! LOL 🙂
Cute gnome cards! Love the different pattern papers!
Have a great day!
