What I’ve been knitting

I haven’t posted much about what I’ve been knitting lately (the whole year, almost!) but that’s because most of my knitting has been for Christmas presents.  I’ll have to wait until after the holidays to show you all that.

Yesterday I took apart an adorable sleep sack that I had made a few years ago for my granddaughter.  The rolled top and owls are just so cute!!  But the rolled top isn’t really comfortable for a baby to sleep on.  My daughter asked me if it were possible to change the top so that she actually use it for the new baby.

The sleep sack is knitted from the top down, so it’s not just a matter of unraveling.  I had to snip a stitch and pick out each stitch in the round, pulling the yarn out as I go, and placing them on a needle.  After that I could unravel the top part and use that yarn to re-knit in 2×2 rib.  After knitting all the yarn, I bound off using Jeny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind Off. Now it’s nice and flat and warm and comfortable for baby!  💕

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.
