Cut it Up – Thankful + Smooshing

We’re feeling very thankful this week at Cut it Up – either thankful or Thanksgiving, your pick!  I chose thankful.  There’s the added challenge of using the “smooshing” technique.  I’ve done that before, but years ago.  I forgot how much fun it is to do!

I used three distress inks all in Fall colors — Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo, and Fired Brick.  I smeared them on waxed paper, squirted them, and pressed my card stock on it until I liked what I saw.  After drying with my heat gun, I used that paper to cut out the Fall Angel’s clothes.  The Fall Angel cut file is from our sponsor, Scrappy Dew.   I love those leaves for her wings.  I used Peachy Keen’s Dolly Dumplins Face Assortment, #PK 560, for her face.

I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the tree.  You can see it better here (not the trunk, though, and there is one on the right.)

The sentiment was just typed using Microsoft Word.

So now it’s your turn to create a project that includes a die cut, smooshing technique, and a thankful or Thanksgiving theme!!  The prize this time is a Scrappy Dew Vault Membership program Free ($20 value) plus 150 coins to use in the vault to get more patterns.  See you over at Cut it Up!

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.

I really like the way you have used the tree embossing folder as a strong textural element in the background that ties everything together in the layout! Nice smooshing for the wings/dress!
