Cut it Up – Into the Woods

We’re venturing Into the Woods for this challenge at Cut it Up.  That means you must use wood, creatures living in the woods, or wood textures on your project.  When I saw this Flying Monkey over at Little Scraps of Heaven, it reminded me of watching The Wizard of Oz every year.  We had a black and white TV, so it was a real shocker when my sister and I went to a friend’s house to watch it one year!  Those monkeys were so scary!
I decided to make a card for my sister to give her a smile.

I used Distress inks to color the soil and the sky.  To make the monkey “fly,” I mounted him on an action wobble from Close to My Heart. This flying monkey isn’t too scary, though, but I still wouldn’t want to meet him in the woods!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Pink and Main, who is donating a surprise prize!!  🙂  How fun!  Why don’t you join in?

I immediately thought of Wizard of Oz seeing the flying monkey and yes, they were scary to me too. I’ve been trying to think what I could do for challenge and still scratching my head. I like the idea of a wood theme, not just animals in the woods. Card is tooooo cute!

Wonderful card and it made me smile so I know for sure your sister will too when she receives it! 🙂
