Cut it Up Outdoor Fun

We love to be outside to enjoy all that nature has to offer, so this challenge from Cut it Up is all about Outdoor Fun!

You may know that I’m trying to catch up on my scrapbooking.  This year I’m working on my son’s photos.  My family loves outdoor activities from camping to hiking to visiting new places.  I recently went to an all-day scrap and got a lot done!  Here are two pages I created that showcase outdoor activities.

My scrap style is pretty much like my lifestyle – pretty basic with minimal frills,  My walls are empty, I have no curtains, only one table has tchotchkes . . .  For scrapbooking, I’ll include a title, a date (sometimes handwritten), and maybe one element that supports the theme.  Layout titles are the reason I got into paper piecing to begin with.  Way back in 2009 I got my first Cricut and Sure Cuts a Lot so I could cut the fonts on my computer (which was possible back then.)

The ship’s wheel is from Pretty Papers, Pretty Ribbons.  It’s in their Sail Away cutting files set.

This second page uses the fun old technique of cutting out the title using extra photos.  I love doing that!

Go on over to Cut it Up to check out the other design team member’s projects, then create one of your own and link it up!  You could win a $10 Michaels gift card!

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.

Like your LOs, great outdoor fun nicely documented. I have never used extra photos to cut the title, I might give that a try soon!

Love your layouts, Evelyn! I am finally healthy enough to scrap after a 9-month dry spell with health issues. Good to see you are doing beautiful documenting of wonderful memories…

Wonderful Layout pages Evelyn! I like that you make them simple for yourself… I think when I try to scrapbook… I always feel like I need more… Like my cards sometimes! LOL… I think that’s one of the reasons I stopped scrapbooking.. to much work involved for me! tehehe – I have done digital pages a long time ago and have been thinking about doing them again… So I might try my hand at scrapbooking again, but on a digital level… hoping that would make them quick and easy for me since I’m so far behind! Plus with my son coming home I want to make him a Marine album – I found some digital kits I might just try my hand at to get his book done before he leaves to school in Oct.
thanks for the inspiration! 🙂 How did De-commissioning your garden go?

How fun and what great memories you have captured here! I love cutting from old photos; such a great way to use the ones that just didn’t work the way we thought they might! 😉
