Cut it Up – You are my Sunshine!

. . . my only sunshine.  You make me happy when skies are gray!

The theme for this Cut it Up challenge is You are my Sunshine, which can be taken literally (using a sun on your project) or figuratively (what makes you happy!!)  I chose the figurative route.  What’s making me happy right now, and every year, is spring is on its way!  We’ve already had crocuses and daffodils, and the ornamental pear trees and forsythia bushes were in bloom before the snow got to them.  Spring is my very favorite season!!  I get outside more and everything smells so GOOD!!

Our sponsor this week is Dreaming Tree and they provided us with product to use on our projects.  Another DT member, Gerda, and I chose the same exact file!! but she got hers finished first.  It’s the Mailbox Bouquet.  I wanted to make mine different from hers so instead of making the box card as instructed, I deconstructed it and made a different shaped card instead. I used the shape of the mailbox for the card and layered the flowers on top of it with foam tape for lots of dimension.I had one leftover flower and a sprig of grass so they landed on the inside. What makes you happy?  Come on over to Cut it Up and show us!  The prize for this challenge is a $15 gift card to Dreaming Tree.  It’ll buy you a lot!!  While you’re over there, check out the freebies.  There are so many!

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.

So pretty & Creative Evelyn! I like how you changed yours up from Gerda’s! You both made beautiful Projects! Spring is my Second Favorite Season and I enjoy the smells and opening the doors to let some fresh air seep in after the long winter months! It’s actually so lovely outside right now… It won’t be long before I have to close the doors again because it’s too hot outside…. that should be in just a couple more short weeks for us… 🙂 Have a great weekend!!!

What a gorgeous floral card! I’m impressed that you changed yours to be a shape card.
I just got a Cricut Explore Air and
am just learning about cut files.
It’s a whole new world of paper crafting
    to learn 🙂
