Cut it Up – New Year’s Resolutions

🎉 Happy New Year from Cut it Up!  🎉

It’s our first challenge for 2018 and the theme is New Year’s Resolutions or Goals.  You know I love to knit.  Every year, the American Heart Association asks for donations of hand knit or crocheted red hats.  They give them out to all the babies born during February, which is Heart Month.  I knit sixteen of them for 2017’s collection.
So far, I’ve only knit one for 2018  😦  and have actually missed the deadline for this year.  I really enjoyed knitting those red hats and donating them to such a worthy cause so I want to be sure to make a donation for 2019.  That is one of my goals for the new year — to knit at least one red hat every month.  I made this little notebook to keep track. The covers are just chip board with pretty paper adhered.  The little mouse is from our sponsor, Kitten Scraps.  The name of the file is Xmas Mouse 5 with candy cane.  I omitted the candy cane and gave her yarn and knitting needles instead!  🙂

Here’s the back cover.  It’s just plain.

Here’s the first page.  It’s a check list so I can be sure to knit one hat every month.I used book rings to bind it so I could add pages as needed because . . .  I’m also using it as just a knitting journal! What are your goals for 2018?  Make a pretty project about your New Year’s resolutions or goals and link it over at Cut it Up.  Maybe your pretty project will inspire you to work on those goals!

Our sponsor, Kitten Scraps, has donated a $20 gift certificate to use in the store for any KittenScraps, or NS Design products for our winner!  🙂

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.

That is such a CUTE idea! As you know… I don’t knit, but it’s a great idea for someone trying to make a goal for themselves – like I do with my Holiday card every week! I hope you make your goal – In fact I hope you surpass it, even by a little! That would be awesome! 🙂

Your notebook is a great way to keep track and with that knitting mouse you won’t be able to forget.

  3. This is such a great idea and the cause is definitely a good one! Your knitting is so beautiful and I’m sure you’ll have this journal full this time next year!
