25 Days of Christmas Crafting Day 15 – Holly and CIU Boxing Up the Holidays

Closing in!  Hope you have the holidays all boxed up.  We do over at Cut it Up Challenge Blog!  And that’s our theme this time around – boxes!  You can make a holiday box or a box for any occasion!  I’ve made a gorgeous holiday box (if I say so myself!) using some files from our sponsor this week, Ink on 3.

I combined elements from Holly Days One Piece Boxes and Cardinal Card SVG kit to make my box and I think it has a very elegant look in traditional Christmas hues.I cut the box at 14.25″ wide using 12 x 24 Cricut paper, so it’s pretty big.  It measures 3 1/2″ all around.  I popped up the side holly panels on foam tape as well as the front panel.I thought the cardinal element was so pretty; I love the look of a silhouette, and holly leaves just have their own magic. This is my second bow.  My original was bigger and yellow.  It just didn’t give me the look I wanted so I made another, smaller one using the green paper.  I really worked with the paper, wrapping it around a pencil and my finger until it curled nicely without making a fold.  Score tape holds it firmly in place. So that’s it!  Hope you make a box and link it up at Cut it Up.  You could win a $10 gift code from Ink on 3!

Hi Evelyn – the write up on the blog for Cut it Up has not been changed to create a box – it has last message from previous challenge – thought you might want to know – [I am not the blog police] Feel free to delete this message.

Your box is lovely – looking forward to the new challenge
