Hello! Welcome to my little craft blog! Today, November 21st, is World Hello Day and it’s also a new challenge over at Die Cuttin’ Divas. Our theme celebrates World Hello Day. I made two cards using Cricut Design Studio. The card itself is from the Wild Card cartridge, the rotary phone is from Suburbia, and the hello greeting is from Lacy Labels. I like how they look but it took a lot to get them to look that way. You can see some of the differences in this photo. I assembled the one on the right first.I was disappointed in how that one turned out. The card base is two layers. You’d think they would account for having two layers by adjusting the size of the inner liner, but no. I scored both and when I went to adhere them together, the brown showed all around the yellow; I had to trim it away. I did like the Hello sentiment from Lacy Labels. It cut out very nicely and I glued it to the front.
On the card on the left, I tried something different with the Design Space software. I used the slice feature to get the Hello to cut out of the brown paper, then I cut a third layer using the hide contour feature to eliminate the window and put that layer behind the brown. But since I didn’t like how the first one turned out, I wound up cutting the brown and tan layers in half. I just used the brown layer on the card front, but used the both tan halves on the inside of the card. (Hope that makes sense.) So that’s my project for World Hello Day! I think I’ll go out and say hello to everyone I meet! That’ll be fun! I love people.
Hope to see your Hello Creation at Die Cuttin’ Divas this week!
