As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and that’s the theme of our challenge this time at Cut it Up. Our awesome sponsor, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps, is so generous. They gave us lots of product to work with and I wanted to use it all!
Thank you so much, CAS-ual Fridays! 🙂
For my first card I masked off a rectangle using Post it notes and sponged Pretty in Pink Stampin’ Up ink. Then with the mask still in place, I stamped the beautiful hope ribbon from the stamp set and put it on a couple of mats. I die cut the Hope die in dark red and added some sequins here and there. The embossing folder is Stripe by Darice. Then I wanted to make a shaker card using the Ruffled Ribbon and Hope dies and those delicious sequins.I thought I was finished, but you know the creative process! There were other colors of the dies there on my desk that I cut out and didn’t use but didn’t want to throw away. I layered the cast-off ribbon dies and hope dies and stamped a sentiment from the Hope Ribbon stamp set and came up with this:I absolutely LOVE that font, don’t you? All the patterned paper is from the Preppy Princess stack from DCWV.
So, what will I do with my cards? you ask. I was wondering the same thing so I googled where I might be able to send them. It turns out there’s a great organization called Girls Love Mail that accepts handwritten cards and letters and delivers them to breast cancer patients. Now all I have to do is write a letter inside each and send them on their way. 🙂
You should head on over to Cut it Up and check out what the other design team members did with their products from CAS-ual Fridays, then link up your own. One random entrant will win a $15 gift code from our sponsor! It could be you!
