DCD #336 – Baseball Season Ends

This Die Cuttin’ Divas challenge was so difficult for me!!   Why??  I don’t know any baseball fans.  I kept trying to think of anything to make with a baseball theme but I couldn’t think of anything that I could actually use.  Then I re-read the parameters of the challenge and realized I could use the colors of my favorite team.  Hmm.  Well, I don’t have a favorite team but when my son was in Boy Scouts, we went to a couple Phillies games.  Their colors are red, white, and blue so that made it much easier!!

I’ve also used a sketch, Paper Play Sketches #1; that also made it much easier.  And the third thing I used was a Cricut cartridge, Art Nouveau, for the beautiful koi image.

I chose the blue paper from my scraps because it looks like waves to me.  The white circle needed something extra, so I squirted it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in blue.  Now it  looks like bubbles!!  The sentiment is from the So Many Birthdays set by Jaded Blossom.

The whole thing was created in Cricut Design Space, even the circles and rectangles.  That way, I could see the card’s design come together and get all the sizes the way I wanted.  I’m getting better at using it.

So, link up your project that is either baseball-themed or uses the colors of your favorite baseball team at Die Cuttin’ Divas this week!

Your card is so beautiful. Love the colors. I am originally from NJ. I grew up in Oakland and lived in Saddle Brook before we moved to San Diego. What part of NJ are you from?

I know exactly where Totowa is as well as the other places you lived! What a small world. Where is your son living in San Diego? We are in Mira Mesa (central San Diego). I swear the older I get the smaller the world gets. Even though I ‘ve been in San Diego for 22 years, if I speak to someone who lived on the East coast they seem to pick up on my east coast accent! I thought I lost that years ago but every once in a while someone will ask me if I’m from the east coast. So funny.
