Aside from drinking pots and pots of coffee, we at Die Cuttin’ Divas are celebrating National Coffee Day by making projects with a coffee theme or with shades of brown. Brown happens to be my favorite color, and coffee happens to be my favorite beverage, so I’m good either way! I decided to go with shades of brown for this challenge. I made a mini-album following one of Ginger’s (My Sister’s Scrapper) tutorials. I can see why she shows her albums on video — otherwise, there’d be a million photos. I’ll just show you the cover and a few of the inside pages. I really enjoyed following Ginger’s tutorial. It was just like she was there with me! 🙂 As you can see, I even CASEd her cover.
The gorgeous paper is Lori Whitlock’s This and That “Charming” set. It’s supposed to be for boys, and a lot of the papers were boy themed on the reverse, but because this was for a woman, I didn’t use those sides. It has a kind of retro feel to it and lots of fall colors. You may recognize the paper from these cards. I backed almost everything with black cardstock and also used a lot of Kraft. I inked all the patterned paper with Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink. My project definitely has lots of shades of brown, though not exclusively brown.
This album was tons of fun to make. It took me about three days altogether. The Best Day Ever title is from Miss Kate’s Cuttables, but I tweaked it to match the paper a little better than the original, which has balloons and stars on it.
Hope you join us for a cuppa Joe over at Die Cuttin’ Divas!
