Cut it Up – Hot Drink

ciuheader4transparentThis is a fun one — Hot Drink!  My design team sister, Katrina, challenged us to include a hot beverage on our projects this week at Cut it Up.  Our sponsor is Newton’s Nook, so I wanted to use one of their products, too.  I chose their Festive Forest Die Set.

img_3109I wanted my project to actually include a gift of a hot beverage, so I looked on my computer for a cup file and found one called Mel’s Mug Card.  The Newton’s nook die is 2.25 x 1.25, so I sized my cup accordingly.  It’s always cool to be able to use different kinds of products together, in this case an svg cut on my Silhouette and a physical die cut with my eBosser.

The mug svg is just one piece.  To make the patterned paper pieces, I copied/pasted mug and used the knife tool to cut it in half.  I used the internal offset for each piece set at .12.  For the part with the handle, I used mirror right to make the piece to line the inside of the mug.  I really enjoy working with the Silhouette Design software!!  🙂  It’s so much fun!

I hope to see your Hot Beverage projects over at Cut it Up!  You could win a $20 store credit from Newton’s Nook!  They sell adorable stamps and coordinating dies!

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.

  1. I LOVE this….I’m a sucker for interactive cards. It’s so warm here but knowing Mother Nature is teasing me.

Wonderful project Evelyn! Perfect for this time of year and knowing we may have 6 more weeks of winter – I bet some of your co-workers would like to see something like this on their desks on a cold morning! 🙂 HUGS!

  4. What a great idea for a card with a gift.
