Cut it Up – I Have a Dream (black and white)

CIU challenge blogIn Martin Luther King’s I have a dream speech (which you can hear and read here), he dreams of a nation where black children and white children can play together.  That speech moves me to tears every time I read it, and hearing it in his own voice is almost overwhelming.

I chose this current theme for Cut it Up Challenge Blog to honor Dr. King and his dream.  The I Have a Dream challenge is to make a black and white project.  Here’s mine:

It’s a set of six note cards.  The frame and the elephant are from Lettering Delight’s Nona Bali Simple Shapes collection.  I printed and cut the elephant. The patterned paper is a digi saved somewhere on my computer.  Of course, I can’t find it again  . . .

Here’s a closeup of one card:

It’s wrapped with ribbon from Close to My Heart.

You should see all the beautiful black and white projects over at Cut it Up.  We’d love to see your black and white projects, too.  The prize this time is a $20 coupon code from As Cute as a Button!

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.

I’m old enough to remember Matrin Luther King . I was a child. Even though young, I remember his powerful speeches and was moved…even as a child. Love your beautiful. I’m going to so try and come up with a challenge card. Time for my thinking cap.
