Cut it Up In with the New challenge

CIU challenge blogFun, fun, fun!  The challenge this time on Cut it Up Challenge Blog is to use something you got for the holidays.  I really made out this Christmas.  I got three new Cricut cartridges – Teddy Bear Parade and Create a Critter 2 (both of which were on my wish list) and a surprise – Simply Charmed!  I also got some paper pads and a corner chomper.  I chose to use the Teddy Bear Parade cartridge for this challenge.

I used the card feature from Winter Woodland to make this card.  For the frame, I just used one square inside another so that the outer square was the same size as the card and the inner square was the same size as the window.  I stamped the frame with an old  snowflake stamp and some white ink.  I popped the teddy bear using Recollections dimensional squares.  This particular teddy bear had a sled, and I did cut it out, but I didn’t like it so I threw it away.  Here is the inside:

The stamp is from My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies.

I started by filling up my 12 x 24 inch mat with 3 inch bears.  I also made 9 green bears and 9 yellow bears for another project (which I’ll show you soon.)  I love making multiples of everything I cut just to have something on hand for a quick project.  I gussied them up just a bit (because those vacant eyes really creep me out!)

Now I have about 25 naked 3 inch bears just waiting to be dressed!  I took five of them and dressed them in a nice winter coat.  Three of them are girls (eyelashes added) and two are boys (no eyelashes.)

I hope you break in your new craft goodies and join us in this challenge at Cut it Up.  Don’t forget to use a die cut.

You are so funny with the eyes creeping you out comment! And you are ambitious by cutting this many, buy oh so smart… I should be doing the same instead of ending up with leftover pieces of paper that years later sit there… super cute bears all dressed up!
