Second Place!

I participated in Scrappin’ Sista’s swap for January.  It was to make an altered journal for one person – a 1:1 swap.  Without knowing the recipient’s style, I perused her website and gleaned what I could.  This person seems to have a clean style, and is interested in what beauty means.  A color palette was provided for us to use, beautiful, muted winter colors with a pop of cardinal red.  I knew I wanted to use the “beauty” theme.  Beauty means different things in different cultures, so that got me thinking.  I decided to use the Pagoda cartridge, because it has cuts from a culture with gorgeous artwork, the Japanese culture.   It contains kanji, Japanese characters that represent concepts.  I cut out the one that means beauty, as well as the stunning pagoda.  The font is Adine-Kinberg.

Inside, on every tenth page, I put a quote about beauty from different people in different cultures.  Anyway, as you probably guessed from the title of this post, I won second place!  I’m so excited!!

There are a few more spots open for Scrappin’ Sista’s February swap.  If you’re interested,  you can find the details here.

About Evelyn

I created this little blog so that I could have a place to show different crafts that I make for my family, my friends, my students, and myself! I have always enjoyed crafting. I particularly love paper, and that's what I'm currently working with.
