I love that little guy.  I think it’s the hat that gets me every time!  All the papers were also scraps I found on my desk.  Anyway, I also used a favorite sketch, this one from Catch the Bug:

The little banners I used behind the strip of patterned paper are a steal I got in the clearance section of Big Lots.  Who knew Big Lots had a clearance section!?!?

I’ve been using these on just about everything.  I’d be interested to know how much they originally cost!

I used an old freebie from Lettering Delights called Banner Day.  The set included an alphabet, paper pack, clip art, frames, even a mini album.  I got the svgs to go along with it.  The svgs are the same images that are in the rest of the collection.  I decided to make a mini mini-album! 

It’s just 3.5 inches!  It all started with the idea of making a mini mini.  Who would appreciate something so small?  My dolls, of course!!  So I brought them outside for a photo shoot.  (Who says fifty-somethings can’t play with dolls?)

Then I inserted their pictures into the Banner Day mini album pngs and printed them out at three inches.  After all the pages were printed out, I measured the boots, lamp post, and other elements, opened the matching svg files and cut them out the same sizes.  I placed the paper piecings on top of the printed images to give it some depth!

My husband was freaked out by my little mini.  He doesn’t really like my dolls (imagine that!)  but I have had them a lifetime and couldn’t part with my old friends.

My dolls, on the other hand, really enjoyed their scrapbook.  They spend a lot of time looking at it:

It’s a photo of my mother (bottom right.)  I don’t know anything else about the photo, but I knew I wanted to use it for my Nurse’s Day card.  This is what I came up with:

I used tape from my first aid kit for the corners.

and put this sentiment on the inside:

I don’t remember where the paper came from – I found it in my stash – but I wanted to use it because my mother served as a nurse in the army and this paper had postage images on it.  The colors were perfect, too!  I like how it turned out.

Here are the tags I made this year:

The lawnmower, tree, bee, and beehive are from Hi-Dee-Ho Neighborby Lettering Delights.  The chair, cupcake and teapot are also Lettering Delights – their Sweet Nothings set and the lizard is from their Love Pets set.  The tags are from their Delilah Tags.  The panda is from Create a Critter!

It’s always fun to make a surprise for someone who works hard, and our cleaning staff do such a great job making our buildings clean and healthy!

I guess it could be use as either a card or a mini-album.  It measures 4.5 inches high by 7 wide.  I put white squares inside that could either be journaling areas or could hold some small photos:

I used Sure Cuts A Lot 2 with my Cricut Expression.  Using Lobster 2 font in shadow, I welded the letters to rectangles of increasing widths.  I also cut the letters without the shadow, both regular and flipped horizontally, in a darker shade of pink so the word MOM would stand out.

I finished it off with some liquid pearls.  This was a fun project!

The stickers that came with the album, two pages of alphabet stickers and one page of themed stickers, were real cute, and I used a lot of them.  I really liked some of the pages that came with the album, so those I used “as is,” but I didn’t like all of  the pages.  Generally, I don’t like plain flat pages, but I cut them up and put them back together combined with some leftover baby papers I had from another project, and came up with some great pages.  I’m very happy with the results, and the album went together very quickly.

This album is for a co-worker who is due in a couple of weeks.  I made it as a gift from our school’s Goodwill Sunshine Committee. There’s only one die cut in here – the cupcake.  It’s from Lettering Delights, their Sweet Nothings svg collection.

I saw this adorable image on Cely’s blog, Creating in Carolina, and I just had to follow her link and get it myself!  The little nurse is from Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps, and it’s called Dearie Dolls Mousy Nurse.  It’s already colored, but just slightly so she really appealed to me.  I had to have her!!  (I tried to find her again on Dearie Dolls’ site so I could give you the direct link, but even following Cely’s link, and using Dearie Dolls’ search, I can’t find her again.)

I made this 4-square card using scraps and a border punch.  I think it would cheer up anybody who was sick.

There were so many to choose from, but I’d been wanting to use these beautiful files from Lettering Delights for some time now.  Isn’t that Cherry blossom tree gorgeous?

The collection is called Kyoto Kuties.

I have to say I love trees!!  We used to have this huge mulberry tree in our back yard that my sister and I and several neighbors spent countless hours in.  We’d bring up our dolls and our radios and play, hang upside down . . .  So much fun!

I even remember a few Arbor Day songs (or parts of them) that we must have learned in grammar school music class, and of course planting trees on Arbor Day.  Have you ever celebrated it?

Our design team members had a lot of fun interpreting this theme.

Here’s my take:

For my gift bag, I used a fish from page 21 on the Nifty Fifties cartridge.  The tag was made by printing the sentiment onto card stock and cutting out in the shape of a tag.  The font is Curly Cue.  I used washi tape from Recollections and some mini-brads from my stash.  The bag itself is from Michaels.  I found several of them just lumped together on the clearance rack with no packaging and no price.  The manager let me have them all for 99 cents!

This is just a simple card made with three strips of leftover paper from the DCWV’s Baby Boy Stack.  I used extra scraps to make the butterflies, which are from page 41 of the Art Philosophy cartridge.

For each butterfly, I cut two base pieces and one top layer.  I adhered one of the bases directly to the card and the other I glued to its top layer.  Then I folded the wings slightly and glued the center part of the body onto the first base.  I like the way it looks!

This is such pretty paper.  It has a little sparkle to it, as you can see here:

I only have a little left of the scraps that don’t look like baby paper.  I am determined to use it all up on projects that are un-babyish!
